Fleet 31 Annual Meeting Minutes
July 30, 2008
- Tom Richards made a motion to
allow boats with roller-furling headstays to race in the B-Fleet
races. It is required that only working jibs can be attached to the
roller-furler and that the sail must be either entirely out or
entirely in at all times. The motion was seconded by Kip Horsburgh.
The motion passed.
- Dave Parlin made a motion for
Jason Dunn to become Commodore of Fleet 31 as well as retain the job
of Treasurer, and that Jess Fusco would become the Secretary of
Fleet 31. The motion was seconded by Joel Birkmeier. The motion
passed.
- A motion was made by Rob Dendle
that the fleet purchase a “Starting Computer”, the cost of which
would be split with LCYC. The motion was seconded by Joel Birkmeier.
The motion passed.
- A motion was made by Jason Dunn
to form an exploratory committee that would investigate the
financial and logistical challenge involved with hosting a National
Championship. The committee will get quotes for hiring a
professional Race Committee and Catering, as well as determine
whether a volunteer team of Fleet 31 members would be willing and
able to host the event. The committee will be led by Jason Dunn and
a report will be given by Labor Day 2008. The motion was seconded by
Tom Richards. The motion passed.
- It was decided that Jason Dunn
will write Job Descriptions for the jobs of Commodore, Treasurer,
and Secretary.
